Tis the Season for Holiday Parties! I love this time of year! It’s such a great excuse to either throw a party yourself or be invited to one. It’s the best time of year to catch up with old and new friends. As fun and exciting as hosting and attending can be, the outfit planning gets a bit overwhelming, especially if you are going to multiple parties! I mean, you can’t wear the same thing twice, right!? Ha. Last weekend alone Khalil and I attended three different parties, and we have a couple more coming up… including our own!!! Sheesh!!
I thought I would share some of my favorite Holiday outfits and some tips for wearing something twice but changing up the look so it’s not obvious that you’ve already worn it. Really who has the time/budget to buy ten different special occasion outfits! You might even already have something in your closet that you can make work for a Holiday look, SCORE!
Favorite Holiday Outfits & Tips
Tip # 1 – Pick one stand out piece that screams “Oh, she is so festive!”
Example: You could do sexy red pants with an ivory top or black bodysuit. Play down your accessories so the focus is on the pants. I have rocked these red pants to several different holiday parties, on repeat, every year. There are so many different styles that you can make work, high-waisted, velvet, a little sparkle… I could go on. Just go to revolve and type red pants and the options are endless. I always switch up the top, or the shoes, and boom the outfit is TOTALLY different. No one will be trying to remember if they’ve seen the pants before, they will just be thinking “WOW, she is so festive!” I love these pants! They are the perfect go-to during this season.
Tip #2: A statement skirt is a great way to go as well. Keep your top simple and grab a gold skirt, a burgundy one, or any type of sequins.
I have told you guys before about the Wolford bodysuit… it is the PERFECT winter staple. It goes perfectly with either option. Sequins, sparkles, all these same things apply to the skirt option to add some festivity. You can pair it with some black tights, simple black booties and you are good to go. You could also wear a classy black dress, and add some gold or silver booties or heels. Even keep the outfit simple, and go with a festive headband for a different look.
Tip #3: One other way to jazz up your outfit to make it more festive is to add some body-shimmer, for that extra Holiday glow:)
I love the KKW beauty body shimmer which I have also told you guys about before. That and the body foundation are favorites. But, if you are in a last-minute situation – you can achieve a similar glow with any loose highlighter that you may already have on hand. I typically add the shimmer to my arms, chest, collar bone, legs, and whatever body part that I don’t have covered I will add some extra bling.
What about you guys, what is your go-to Holiday outfit?
