My Fashion Must Haves for the Twins

by Courtney El-Ghoul

First of all, I can’t believe we are approaching the end of summer!? Oh my, did it fly by, I mean it always feels fast, but particularly this summer. Khalil always reminds me you only really have 7 summers with your kiddos before they are too cool for hanging out with their parents, so I am trying to soak up as much time with them as I can.

As I was going through all their clothes from last year, sorting through things they have outgrown, and things they have stained beyond repair! I wanted to share with you guys my favorite places to shop for them. I have learned my lesson about investing in really expensive clothing, as 9 times out of 10 they are going to ruin it. I will do it for a special occasion or a family photoshoot, but it’s not worth me stressing out if they are going to ruin it after 1 wear. I don’t know about you guys, but my girls are hard on clothes. In particular, at school. The knees are always blown out of the pants, washable paint? Hmmm doesn’t ever seem to come out, and of course tomato sauce, chocolate, you name it, I have seen it on a lot of their clothing.

I have never been super into dressing them the same, again for a special occasion it’s cute, but I wanted them to develop their own, personal style, and to be honest, I don’t like buying 2 of the same thing! However, currently they want everything to be the same, so to avoid the fighting over who is wearing what I do find myself buying 2 of the same outfit. My motto with their clothing has always been, “Is this something I would wear?” I have never been big into the super-cutesy/kiddie – kids clothing. Kids fashion has come a long way for sure, and I couldn’t be more grateful. There is so much cute stuff, and a lot of brands are affordable. See below for my favorite brands and places to shop for the twins.

ZARA Kids- I mean, the cutest clothes for kiddos! I love that they never disappoint, and such reasonable prices.

PRO TIP: I buy a lot of the girls’ stuff in-between seasons when they have huge sales. I just go up a size, and stock up on basics. Their tees, hoodies, and dresses last forever. I also buy from both the boys & girls section, a lot of the clothing is unisex, and I find a lot of cute pieces from the boys’ section. All of their black turtlenecks, sweatpants, and tennis shoes from the boys’ section.

Another TIP: Don’t put in the dryer, as it will shrink. I just hang dry them, and they last forever.

H&M Kids– Love their stuff. The quality isn’t as good as ZARA, but they have such a good selection, trendy and super affordable.

Gap Kids– Gap stuff is perfect for school and playtime. It holds up and is super comfy for them. I get most of the girls’ leggings for school, plain tees, both long and short from the Gap. They also have the best PJs!

PRO TIP:  They always have some type of sale. I get the girls pajamas during the sale time. Again, I just go up a size and get a bunch.

OLD NAVY KIDS– Super affordable, which is perfect for school clothes. If they ruin it, it’s not as big a deal as the prices are so good. They also always have great sales where you can stock up on basics.

TINY TRIBE- Okay the coolest clothes ever for kids. If you follow me on Instagram you know…. my girls LIVE in Tiny Tribe. I would totally rock their stuff if it came in my size. Super cool designs, durable, the best bathing suits!

PRO TIP: Sometimes you can find their stuff at Nordstrom Rack

MODERNE CHILD– Her stuff is adorable. I have gotten the twins some really cute casual stuff and some REALLY beautiful birthday dresses & special occasion outfits from MC. Kim was super responsive, ordering and shipping were seamless. Not to mention she has mommy and me outfits as well.

HARLOW JADE– They have the cutest Overalls and Bell Bottoms! AND -the best part about the overalls is that they look super cute oversized – so, just go up a size and your kids can wear them for a while!

LITTLE EDGE THREADS– Super chic, I have the cutest jackets from there! One of the jackets I got them was over a year ago, and it still fits the girls, and is in great shape! Love, Love, and LOVE.

PLUM NYC– What can I say? They have THE BEST TUTUS! Every little girl’s dream, right? I have tutu dresses for the girls that they have worn on repeat. You can style them in different ways, I am totally going to order again this year for our family photos.

NUNUNU WORLD– Unisex clothing, super cool and trendy.

PRO TIP- I buy a lot of the girls NuNuNu from Nordstrom Rack… But, you can also find on Amazon.

Happy Shopping!
